ORDINARIA REPETITIO
"Multimedia installation as part of the programme for the NNO Art & Tech concert in collaboration with PCC and CrossWise."
For the Hello World! event in Oosterport (Groningen), our group created Ordinaria Repetitio, an interactive installation showcasing the hidden beauty in repetition. People could step up and play beautiful mugs made by Schuyler Waters, like an instruments, while microphone underneath amplified the clicking sounds into echoing loops – adjusted live by Dāvis Grīnhofs. But the interaction didn’t stop there. I’ve built a system in TouchDesigner, basted on current and previous frame, which turned visitors’ movements into digital particles, which then triggered servo motors attached to the mugs. This meant that even if someone just walked past the piece, their presence moved the servos, clinked the mugs, and generated sound.
